The recent BBC news report on the Tsunami in Indonesia on 27th October 2010 represents a devastation of powerful oceans tides that flooded and overwhelmed a third world society beyond their abilities to help themselves. There has been close to 300 lives claimed and the figure is feared to climb as many coastal villages were completely wiped away. The reality of people suffering there may seem very far away to those of us who are secure in comparison.
